Hi, I'm Holden Kellerhals, your Lending Strategist at NEXA Lending and a Certified Reverse Mortgage Specialist. I specialize in reverse mortgages and HECM for Purchase, helping retirees tap into the equity they've spent a lifetime building so they can live, move, downsize, or invest on their own terms. It's some of the most meaningful work I do; giving people clarity around their next chapter without pressure or jargon.

But reverse mortgages are just one piece of what I do. As a broker with access to over 280 lenders and investors, I help borrowers who don't fit the old-school mortgage box: self-employed buyers using Non-QM options like bank statement, P&L, and asset-depletion loans; real estate investors structuring DSCR financing for rentals and short-term plays; first-time and move-up buyers using FHA, VA, USDA, and Conventional programs; and folks needing Jumbo or alternative jumbo solutions. Whatever your situation, I shop the market, run the numbers, and build a strategy around your real life, not just the paperwork.

A bit about me: I grew up in Marion, Iowa, earned a full-ride scholarship for French horn at the University of Iowa, and spent 14 years in arts administration at the Paul Taylor Dance Company in New York before settling in St. Petersburg, Florida. That mix of Midwest work ethic, performing arts discipline, and hospitality is how I show up for every client; warm, candid, patient, and genuinely in your corner. Every client has a story.
